1. What do you do at JMT?

My role focuses on building strong relationships with our clients and making sure we're delivering the right technology-based solutions to meet their goals. I help guide projects from concept through delivery, making sure we're solving real problems and creating value. It's a mix of strategy, communication, collaboration, and innovation.

2. What brought you to JMT?

I was really drawn to JMT because of the people, culture, and projects. I had the opportunity to work with JMT staff on previous projects and was always impressed by how collaborative and innovative the environment was. The projects here are creative and forward-thinking, which really appealed to me.

3. What do you like most about JMT?

I have really enjoyed the company culture and working with the Technology Group. Everyone here at JMT is extremely knowledgeable, collaborative and genuinely committed to delivering solutions that exceed client expectations. Plus, being employee-owned creates a unique culture where everyone is invested in doing great work and being successful.

4. What type of projects do you like to work on most?

I enjoy projects that challenge the norm, especially those that require innovative thinking to improve decision-making and reduce risk. I'm particularly drawn to geospatial and asset management initiatives, where integrating spatial data with asset information helps create smarter, data-driven solutions for planning, operations, maintenance, and construction. These types of projects not only streamline workflows but also deliver long-term value and have a positive impact on communities, ensuring more efficient, sustainable services for everyone.

5. What advice do you have for someone who wants to get into this industry/career?

Be proactive and stay curious. Ask questions, explore different technology and tools, and look for ways to enhance your project delivery. The more you're willing to learn and take initiative, the more rewarding your career will become.

6. What is something new and exciting that you're working on?

An exciting project I am working on is the North Carolina Department of Emergency Management’s (NCEM) Private Roads and Bridges (PRB) Program. In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s unprecedented devastation across North Carolina, the NCEM launched the PRB Program to restore critical access for residents isolated by damaged infrastructure. JMT is leading the program delivery and management services with the goal of enabling aid to as many affected property owners as quickly as possible. Our role spans from initial site assessments to final project closeout, ensuring that each private road and bridge is restored efficiently, safely, and equitably.

This project is especially meaningful to me. I went to college in Boone (Appalachian State) and started my professional career in Asheville, so it feels great to work on a project that gives back to a region that's close to home and helps people through the rebuilding process.
